Chinese Walking Stick Bamboo

This is Chimonobambusa tumidissinoda "Chinese Walking Stick", a fairly rare bamboo from the rainforests near Sichuan, China, that is used by locals to make walking sticks. The nodes look like two cymbals pressed together. This is a running bamboo that likes afternoon shade and does well in pots. In the ground its max ...height is 20 feet with 1.3 inch diameter culms. This photo is from my personal bamboo collection and was taken by Gerhard Bock.

They use this bamboo as their walking stick because it doesn't easily break, and it is easy to sway and to clear the grass on the walk path. And what's good about this, is that it can be use for gardening or landscaping which makes a relaxing scene or place to be with. It just needs a little maintenance and plants to complement each of it.
